Apologies for not being able to join in the celebrations as I had prior commitments. Based on the photos I have seen it was definitely a fantastic and truly memorable event so well done indeed to all of you. Well, being the totally creative and fun group that we are, when we had the opportunity to spend Eng Chew and Hong Chin's CSO prize money, what else did we think of but ...... M-A-K-A-N lar ....... Can you tell that it is our favourite pastime ?!

After a day of 'fasting' due to McVL, we all ate like there is no tomorrow !!! In fact, until the place started pre-closing ... then lights dimmed ... then the sweeping started .... and we were still chatting and laughing !

I wanted to talk about CSO but Eng Chew said shhh, better don't ! If you have the chance, do check out Mazlina's canggih handphone and Sam's camera ! Puts the OCs' phones to shame la ;)

CLOC - El's & Azemah's Mini Markets

RACE for No1 - Another Perfect 10 execution! As we all know, PEOPLE are our key assets ... No PEOPLE, No FOOD, No SERVICE!

Recently, on 2/2 - 3/2/09, Elena and Azemah's mini markets successfully conducted a CLOC. (Crew Leader Operations Course). This training event was attended by 27 CLs from mainland, Taiping, Sg Petani and also from as far as Langkawi.

BACK to BASICS - The topics covered were basics such as Communication, Training, Service, Food Safety, MFY & VCMS, Quality Control & Sanitation, Zonal Responsibility and Teamwork.

All our CLs were supportive and contributed till end of the class. Our best success was that all students passed the FINAL EXAM with high passing marks ... the highest score being 98%.

Gift Exchange - guess what Razak got ?!

The 2008 CSO Champions!

Hmmm, this is becoming an annual event. Due to the vast improvement in our PC's results for 2008, we are now firm believers of Yee Sang,the Prosperity dish (raw fish salad) traditionally tossed to raise 'good luck' for the new year !

Of course, we first had the business stuff over and done with ... we talked about our progress MTD (1st 3 weeks of Jan), where we are on Comp Sales, Comp GCs, Vs plan, GCPCH, Mystery shop score,CSO and SOI Ranking in the P&L (Dec and 2008 YTD)

We also went thru in detail our strategy to meet or beat our Northern targets for WPR parameters this year. Mel went thru Performance Drivers and WPR Ratings again. She also reminded us to share facts with friends and family in regards to the handling of the boycott issue.

A very lengthy discussion and presentation was also done on the upcoming McValue Lunch launch,Simple Bold and Pokemon Happy Meal.

This time round, we had 4 groups in a friendly competition to see who could answer the most questions correctly from the promo briefs and also win some games conducted thru-out the meeting. The names chosen for the groups were err .... can I say creative .... ? Long Tou Hu Ma, Fatt Fatt, Huat Ar and Choi San. Haiyo ! The names themselves were comical and we had lots of healthy laughter.

The winning group was Fatt Fatt with the most points at the end of the day. Congrats !

In between,Dominic from HR Dept shared with us the new Cash Handling Policy, QCIP 2009 and System Must Do for Retention.

The highlight of the day was definitely the Yee Sang tossing and I must say, some of you are really crazy making funny noises or simply shouting in joy when tossing the salad. You are supposed to make your wish for better results mah ! And we even had practice session with all those SOI and Comp Sales / GC targets! Finally, it all sounded like HO..O..HO..O..HO!!!

A new symbol of Abundance was introduced this year - Wu Gu Feng Shou 五谷豐收 meaning 'Good Harvest' - consisting of 5 different types of beans signifying the 5 elements in Harmony, bringing us Abundance and Good Luck. We had a small game of separating the beans before mixing it all up for everyone to take some away in a red packet.

We also had a fun Gift Exchange session where everyone got something to take home.

Not to forget the Recognition Ceremony where Satriah,Day Nee,Salina,Chee Beng,Hong Chin and Eng Chew all picked up a letter of thanks and a cheque each for a team celebration. Each OC, Kartina and Soo Cheng also got a nice gift from Mel.

After all that eating and playing, it was time to go home but not before we all committed to writing our 2009 personal and work-related goals, under the headings of 'What' and 'How'.

Those who wrote funny things or took Mel's coloured pens will be the first to enjoy the privilege of attending a Comm Day with her on 23/2/09 !

1st Crew Meeting - McD Caltex Sunway

Hai Everyone, We’re back !

We held our very first crew meeting of the year on 20 January at midnight.

This time “RED” is our theme and for sure, THE color for the upcoming “CHINESE NEW YEAR”

This meeting which was conducted by Rosnita (1st Asst.) started with the new crew introducing themselves and with a small quiz. We showed the Company DVD on the Marketing presentation regarding new promotion for this coming month, new targets and DT Challenge.

Oh, and guess what? Our beautilicious SM, Lay Yong with her red dress very generously gave out red packets and oranges ... not forgetting the management team preparing yummy STEAMBOAT specially for our crew!

Lots and lots of joy & happiness when we finally exchanged gifts and had a photo session.

Thank you to all Management Team and Crew for a yummy steamboat meal!

Don’t forget 2009's Company Target “RACE FOR NO.1” - “ANOTHER PERFECT 10 EXECUTION”!
