Earth Hour

On March 31, Saturday, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm (1hour), McDonald’s Malaysia along with many other organizations will pledge our support for EARTH HOUR by reducing energy at ALL our restaurants. This is part of a global eco-friendly initiative to build awareness of the importance of saving energy in the community and doing something positive for the environment.

A DAY TO REMEMBER
The day was certainly a date to remember as it marks the day that McDonald’s Penang Airport had its’ breaking historical sales record ever. It was a certainly joyful day as everyone enjoyed Secret Receipe Cake..
We also had a crew meeting to Thankful to all the crew memebers and the managers for the hardwork that shown during that month.We also did explain on the Speed, Speed , Speed and the Peak challenge 2012
This explains on the purpose of this meeting and also some updates on store results about CSO and achieving targets. We like to express our deepest thanks from McDonald's Airport for the thoughtful cake as an incentive for breaking the sales record for Airport
With this incentive the team for sure will continue to put our strong commitment into achieving even more Sales and GC's

OM LEVEL OLYMPIC CHAMPION CT COMPETITION

Tanggal 12hb November 2011, telah berlangsung “Elena’s Profit Center YoCT Champion Crew Trainer Competition” di McDonald’s Juru, Pulau Pinang. Agenda pada hari tersebut bermula dengan sesi pendaftaran peserta pada pukul 10.30pagi. Seramai 10 orang Ketua Pelatih dipilih dari setiap peringkat ‘Mini Market’ (Gurney - Hong Chin, Bayan Baru - Eng Chew, Prai/Perak - An Nee, Perak – D’Zul, Prai -Azemah).
Selesai sesi pendaftaran, Elena Khoo, selaku Pengurus Operasi (Operation Manager) mengambil kesempatan untuk mengucapkan tahniah kepada semua Ketua Krew yang telah berjaya sampai ke peringkat ini. Beliau berharap semua Ketua Krew mencuba sedaya upaya untuk memenangi pertandingan pada hari ini dan seterusnya layak ke peringkat “Profit Center” dan menggunakan peluang keemasan ini untuk merebut hadiah utama iaitu ke LONDON.
Acara diteruskan dengan cabutan undi untuk menentukan stesyen yang akan diuji dari segi “4 Step Training Method”. Untuk peringkat ini, terdapat tiga pilihan stesyen iaitu Lobby, Beef Patties dan Initiator/Assembler. Calon hanya akan diuji pada satu stesyen sahaja. Penentuan pemenang berdasarkan keupayaan dan kemahiran Ketua Pelatih dalam mempratikkan ‘4 Step Training Method’. Ketua Penasihat Operasi (Operations Consultant) akan menjadi juri dalam acara ini.
Sebelum bermulanya acara di stesyen, semua Ketua Krew dikehendaki menjawab 30 soalan objektif untuk menilai tahap pengetahuan mereka. Selesai sesi tersebut, acara dimulakan dengan penilaian di stesyen. Penilaian di stesyen mengambil masa 35 minit untuk setiap pelatih.
Untuk pertandingan ini, 2 Ketua Pelatih sahaja yang akan dipilih untuk ke peringkat Pertandingan “Market Level”. Pertandingan ini dimenangi oleh Noor Hasida dari #219 (Caltex Farlim) dan Anis Farahin dari #54 (Sunshine Square). Didoakan semoga mereka yang terpilih akan mencuba sedaya upaya untuk memenangi hadiah utama ke LONDON. Acara pada hari ini berakhir pada pukul 5 petang.

PRESIDENTS' AWARD

The Presidents' Award is an individual award that recognizes the outsanding achievement of the top 1% of global staff employees. This award celebrates individuals who exemplify McDonald's values and continuously contribute to the Plan to Win.

Melanie's career with McDonald's has spanned 23 years, starting as crew in 1986 to her current position as Operations Manager of 28 stores in Northern Malaysia.

In 2010, Melanie strategized, coached and motivated her team to achieve restuls in sales, people, QSC and profits. Her region achieved 19.36% comp sales and 13.95% comp GCs. Her profit centre sales were 10% above plan, and her profit centre achieved 193% of SOI plan, which was +34% vs. 2009. With regards to people, the Northern Dream Team Crew and Manager Turnover was 60.7% and 5.7% respectively, compared to market of 80.1% and 12.4%, her Managers achieved 6 Best Contributor Awards form the past 14 BSM and ASM classes and her crew and Manager engagement scores are 97.95% and 99.32% respectively, compared to market of 97.57% and 99.12%. In 2010, her team opened 3 new stores which were the top 3 highest first-day sales of the 16 new stores we opened

Melanie was the first OM to create a profit centre identity and blog. Her "Northern Dream Team" identity has achieved much Team Work and Team Spirit. With Melanie's leadership, McDonald's became the first QSR in Penang to comply with the Penang State Government's environmental campaign of "No Plastic Bag Day" by working closely with the Chief Minister's Office, Supply Chain and RSG.

Elena's Farewell Party

Dear All,

It is with much appreciation that I would like to thank all of you at the bottom of my heart for all the kind words and recognition showered on me during my farewell party on the 20th December 2010. And also for the present that you have contributed as a parting gift for me. I'm really touched beyond words. I will always keep it near my heart. Thank you for the teamwork and support that you have given me over the past years too.

And for those of you that I've managed to touched, be it in your career life or personal life, I wished that you will do the same for others around you. Think Positive & Stay Positive at all times!
For my OCs, thank you for the teamwork and support that you have showed during our working time together. I believed this kind of working relationships don't just come overnight. Thank you for the contribution to my learning too. (on how to handle each of you individually)
Last but not least, I would like to express my sincere thanks to my beloved Boss, Mel for helping me through out my career life especially in teaching me all the tactics on how to handle many many different situations that I faced throughout the years. How to politically speak and how act in many different ways to different situations. How to write meaningful and powerful emails, and many, many more. With your much advice, I've grown to become a better person. (was not able to say all this as I know I will be crying buckets of tears, hehehe)
And as for all the gifts, I know Mel, you are the ONE who thought of it. Trust you to get the right gifts for anyone. It is really appropriate, the suitcase for my jet setting future and a chain for my cross that I nearly wanted to purchased. Hmmmm, words cannot explain. And you know what, looking at all those flashback of sweet memories of our pictures together makes me realized that was why I'm still working with McD all these years. It was as good as it gets. and still many more to come. Awesome! (thank you, Lay Yong for putting it together, Mel for editing & Hong Chin for some photos)
I'm really going to miss all of you, but I'm still in Penang. I'll be based in Penang, so maybe I'll be in Greenlane's office more often when I'm not in the stores.(hoping with my fingers crossed)
So let's not just say good-byes but say see you again, and every ending has a new beginning.

Feedback : i m so surprise that when i walk in to the mcdonald greenlane.. they greet me so friendly and their service are so fast. i haven been going a mcdonalds that greeting so awesome and treat me like a big family. When i walk in there, the crew open the door for me. they also give a sticker for my son. i like mcd so much! i will always go there for my breakfast, lunch and dinner! i feel so friendly. although when value lunch that time they serve me not that fast, because there are alot customer. the enviroment they not bad too. but some times i no place to have my lunch. anyway i love mcdonald greenlane!

Saya Mohd Safwan B.Karim bekerja sebagai Ketua Crew di McDonalds Tesco,telah bekerja di McDonalds selama 3 tahun..Sepanjang bekerja di sini saya telah banyak menimba ilmu dan pengalaman penting untuk diri saya.Saya mempunyai seorang adik lelaki iaitu Muhammad Zaki.Saya telah mengajak beliau untuk bekerja di McDonalds bersama-sama saya. Sebelum adik saya mula bekerja di McDonalds saya telah menceritakan serba sedikit mengenai McDonalds contohnya faedah-faedah yang bakal di terima dan juga kenangan-kenangan manis dan juga pahit, tidak lama kemudian adik saya pun turut menyertai McDonalds.Tujuan saya mengajak adik saya bekerja di McDonalds adalah untuk menarik minat lebih ramai lagi anak-anak muda di luar sana untuk turut menyertainya sekali.
Seperti yang semua orang ketahui sekarang kerja amat sukar untuk di cari sekarang.Sekurang-kurangnya jika adik saya bekerja di sini nanti tahu beliau boleh membina kerjayanya di sini suatu hari nanti dan mungkin juga selepas ini adik saya akan membawa lebih ramai lagi kawan-kawanya untuk menyertai McDonalds.Sekarang sudah hampir 4 bulan adik saya bekerja di sini. Once again, Congratulations to a Successful Grand Opening of Teluk Intan. We had a Great Time in this wonderful event and I am very pleased and proud of all your Team's hard work and effort.

It is also a great eye opener for some of the OMs and OCs who has taken time to be part of your Grand Opening. I am sure they have witnessed one of the Best Grand Opening and seeing is believing. Let's keep the spirits of sharing Best Practices among us and I am proud to be part of this wonderful team!

I am also very impressed with your 9 pieces of luminous directional signs starting from the exit of North South Highway of Bidur to Teluk Intan store. I am sure this will help those potential customers who have yet visited our Teluk Intan store to savior our Big Mac. Great job! This I am sure our all OMs and OCs have taken note.

By the way, attached is a couple of picture taken and wishing Teluk Intan More GCs, More Sales and Higher Profits!
