It has been some time since I have written as I have been really, really busy working with your leadership teams on our Northern Dream Team's new logo,slogan,cheers and we even have our very own Team flag!

Here are some facts about ants that you probably didn't know. Ants have been living on the Earth for more than 100 million years and can be found almost anywhere on the planet.

Ants can carry up to 50 times their body weight.

If you watch ants for any length of time, you will see that they really do communicate with each other and very effectively too.

A colony of ants provides a perfect example of teamwork and the synergistic benefits that can be realised when individuals work together selflessly for a common purpose.

When was the last time you saw ants reach an obstacle and give up with their heads down and head back to the ant-hole to relax? Never. If they're headed somewhere and you try to stop them, they will look for another way. They'll climb over, they'll climb under, they'll go around — regardless of the effort involved. What a neat philosophy ... to never quit looking for a way to get to where you're supposed to go!

Ants think “winter” all summer. Summer will not last forever. Ants spend their summers gathering food for the winter and building their house that will keep them safe during the cold winter.

Here's another question. How much will an ant gather during the summer to prepare for winter? All that it possibly can. Ants don't have quotas or "good enough" philosophies. They don't gather a certain amount and then head back to the hole to "hang out." If an ant can do more, it does.

Imagine what we could accomplish if we never quit and always do all that we can do!
