Earth Day 2010 - Coastal Clean Up - McDonald's Northern Goes Green!

Some 2,800 volunteers fanned out along the 5.7km stretch of Gurney Drive, Tanjung Bungah and Batu Ferringhi from 7am yesterday to collect the garbage in an event held in conjunction with Earth Day. McDonald's were also represented by 60 volunteers from 3 states. Perak, Penand & Kedah!

All members were gathered for a briefing as early as 6.30am. We were divided in groups to comb the beach. Our McD managed to collect about 26Kg of rubbish. Can you imagine!? The rubbish were sorted out and analyze too.

According to data released by Universiti Sains Malaysia marine and coastal studies centre researchers later, 5.7 tonnes of garbage were collected from Gurney Drive (including the refrigerator and tyre found strewn on the rocks), 0.3 tonnes from Batu Ferringhi and 0.4 tonnes from Tanjung Bungah. More than 48,000 items were in the entire pile of garbage.

McD sponsered some 600 Chicken Burger for the volunteers too!

Anyway, well done to the Northern Dream Team for another successful effort in championing green initiatives :)

El's MM 2nd Qtr Mgr Meet

Time has come for us to meet again in yet another Quarterly Meet. We did EggtraOrdinariLy well for our 1st Qtr. We definitely set ourselves a very Strong Start for the 1st Qtr. Good Job to the Team!

Even though we are doing very good Comps for GCs, but during lunch peak we need to pick up the speed.

So this goes out to the team to ensure all our FAF action plan are carried out without fail!

Tahniah…tahniah dan selamat berangkat ke Orlando, Florida kepada Mohamed Muzammil Bin Mohamed Mydin.Keberangkatan beliau ke Lapangan Terbang Bayan Lepas,Pulau Pinang diiringi oleh Pengurus Restoran McDonalds Greenlane,Cik Khoo Lay Yong ,Pengurus McD Greenlane dan beberapa orang krew.Beliau akan menghadiri ‘McDonald’s Worldwide Owner/Operator Convention’.Konvensyen ini akan dihadiri oleh 15,000 ahli ‘McFamily’ selama tiga hari.Muzammil merupakan salah seorang daripada dua orang Ketua Krew yang terpilih dari seluruh Malaysia.

Pemergian beliau dihantar dengan penuh rasa gembira dan bangga oleh seluruh warga ‘Northern Dream Team’(NDT).Semoga pemergian ke sana memberi peluang kepada beliau menimba pengalaman baru di negara orang dan memperoleh ilmu untuk digunakan dalam kerjaya dan kehidupan.Semua warga NDT mendoakan beliau selamat sampai ke destinasi dituju dan pulang ke tanah air dengan selamat.Semoga kepulangan dan pengalaman beliau di sana akan dapat dikongsi oleh seluruh warga McD.

Equipment Bundle - Carpigiani by NKR in Northern

Is Equipment Training Day! Time to strip down the machine and identify some parts. Well, training were supported by NKR.

It's all hands on, almost 80%. The Store Managers and some Equipment Managers were involved. They need to wash, clean and identify the machine.

After almost 7 hours, the team were with more knowledge of how to maintain the machine. With this our customers were assured of getting Gold Standard Dessert! Triple Thick Shake & Sundaes!

Grand Opening #245 Bandar Perda DT

McDonald's Pandu Lalu Bandar Perda telah mengadakan perasmian pada 11 April 2010 yang lepas.Ia telah dirasmikan oleh Pengurus Operasi iaitu


Pn Melanie Lim dan Ronald McDonald.Acara perasmian ini diserikan lagi dengan persembahan kebudyaan,kompang,silat,tarian singa dan persembahan dari tadika-tadika yang berhampiran.

Di samping itu juga badan-badan kerajaan seperti Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat dan Jabatan Pengangkutan jalan Pulau Pinang telah berbesar hati untuk membuat pameran pada hari tersebut.

Tidak ketinggalan kempen derma darah turut diadakn oleh Hospital Seberang Jaya dan dapat mengumpul sebayanyak 29 orang penderma.Pada kali ini McDonald's Pandu Lalu Bandar Perda

telah mencatatkan sejarah apabila seramai 120orang peserta telah mengambil bahagian dalam pertandingan mewarna.Ronald McDonald's House Charity (RMHC) turut menyampaikan sumbangan

berupa wang tunai RM2000 dan beg sekolah kepada 9 kanak-kanak dari Sekolah Sinar Harapan Bukit Mertajam,Pulau Pinang.Kami dari pihak pengurusan McDonald's Pandu Lalu Bandar Perda

mengucapkan jutaan terima kasih kepada semua Perunding-perunding Operasi,Pengurus-pengurus dan juga krew-krew yang telah membantu kami dalam menjayakan acara ini.
